My name is John Truitt. I am married to my wife Jenny, and father of two sons: Jackson and Jacob. I am an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and owner of Truitt Oral Surgery. Outside of being a father, husband, and health care provider; shooting competitive sporting clays is my passion. Devin Anderson started shooting at age 14 while working as a trapper at East Monongahela Sportsman Club in southwestern Pennsylvania, run by former NSCA National Champion Connie Fournier. After being away from shooting during school and his early career, he started shooting NSCA tournaments in 2015, reaching Master in 16 months and has been working with Anthony Matarese since. After retiring from a successful career as a Professional Jockey: I rode in 6250 races, won 605, was the 3rd woman ever to ride in the Kentucky Derby, 2nd woman in the Preakness, won Pennsylvania Derby, Md Jockey of the year and many other highlights as well as broken bones, I needed to find a safer competitive outlet I found Sporting Clays and was fortunate to connect with Anthony Matarese. What I’ve learned from Anthony has enabled me to pass along his knowledge to my students. I also took his target setting course, which led to me managing a public 5 stand where I set and maintained 15 traps. AIM Shooting School has evolved to include other valuable learning resources, including DVD’s, Streaming and Books which I continue to study.

Blaize Whitehead is an experienced competitive sporting clays shooter and a certified NSCA Level 1 Instructor. His love for the game first started when he shot a fundraiser, held to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Blaize’s love for the sport grows all the time! He has been shooting for 10 years and has been competing in all the major events for 5 years. With his years of experience and knowledge on a vast majority of targets, Blaize is able to put his experience and knowledge to use not only in his game but also in coaching to help others improve their game.

The last instructional session was a targeted one; with the ultimate goal of the highly coveted title of HOA at the ACUI Collegiate Nationals in Texas. Armed with advanced instructional coaching, not only did Grace accomplish her goal, she obtained her 5th National Collegiate title, in addition she took the silver in the 2024 NSCA National Championship and RU in the Winchester Cup.
