My name is John Truitt. I am married to my wife Jenny, and father of two sons: Jackson and Jacob. I am an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and owner of Truitt Oral Surgery. Outside of being a father, husband, and health care provider; shooting competitive sporting clays is my passion. Devin Anderson started shooting at age 14 while working as a trapper at East Monongahela Sportsman Club in southwestern Pennsylvania, run by former NSCA National Champion Connie Fournier. After being away from shooting during school and his early career, he started shooting NSCA tournaments in 2015, reaching Master in 16 months and has been working with Anthony Matarese since. Born into a bird hunting family, Matt Miller began shooting a shotgun as a kid at dove hunts with his father. In 2010, Matt retired from playing semi-pro paintball and transferred his passion for competition and shooting to sporting clays. While competing primarily in Master class at the local level, Matt took his first lesson with Anthony in 2017, prior to the birth of his first child, to get a path for improvement with the limited time and financial resources that would be available as a new father. The results were transformative, and his shooting improved exponentially. Like many shooting clay targets there is a balance between family, work, and clays. At home my wife Leigh and I are raising our two young daughters and at work I’m the COOof an investment management firm with over $2.1 billion in assets. Life becomes balance with family coming first, work second (depending on who you ask), and then the rest.

Registered targets started for me in 2020 and with a few lessons from Wendell Cherry, and regular help from Bill Yacktman. I progressed to M class quickly but toward the middle of 2021 I felt like the progression was slowing, and my consistency was quite volatile …

The idea at that time was to reach out to Anthony given he is the most accomplished shooter and coach in the US to see if the progression could continue without

In 1995, at age 12, Jared was first introduced to sporting clays not as a shooter, but working as a trapper at a local sporting clays club. Not long after starting his part time job as a trapper, all the money he was earning went right back into shooting sporting clays and skeet. In 1996 Jared began competing in both skeet and sporting clays and has since shot over 160,000 NSCA registered targets throughout the United States. Grace, picked up a shotgun at 5 years old. Born into a family of hunters, she soon became an avid upland game enthusiast. In an effort to improve her wing shooting she joined a local sporting clay range. Shortly after, Grace discovered the world of competitive shooting and the competitive spirit was awakened. Grace has made many sacrifices and worked tirelessly to perfect her game.

In two short years she was competing in the NSCA at the highest level. After placing 3rd in the Western Regionals, she qualified to be on the Pro- Squad. Grace, won the California State Championship and after graduating high school, it was clear that shooting …

My name is Logan King and I am from Western Pennsylvania. I began shooting at the age of 13 for my local 4-H club where I found my passion for sporting clays. Paulena B. Prager began shooting at age twelve. She entered her first NSCA tournament at fifteen and practiced the sport throughout high school, winning her first Maryland State Lady Championship in 2011. Nicolas Berry

Nick was born and raised in France in a hunting family. He started hunting small and big game with his dad at the age of 6, but really focused on his competitive rugby career and played at the national level from the age of 10 until the age of 30. After gaining his masters in civil engineering and in architecture in Paris, he started an architecture and engineering firm in France and in Vietnam where he moved and lived for 7 years. At the age of 26 Nick had grown his company to 80+ professionals and had worked on hundreds of major projects in Asia. In 2009 he met his lifetime partner Cat who was born and raised in the US, but was also working in Vietnam and they started a family. After living 7 years back in Paris with their three kids, they moved to …

He then started his own family business Little Trapper Inc. with his wife Cat in 2020 and purchased Rock Creek Ranch in 2022. Jeffrey Thomason

Jeff developed a love for shooting shotguns at an early age while hunting pheasants with his dad. One too many dirty looks from his hunting dog “Mollie” was enough to motivate Jeff try to become a better shot. At 46 years of age he shot his first round of Sporting Clays. Shooting a dismal score of 47/100, Jeff ’s search for improvement led him to Anthony’s ‘Timed to Win’ video. Jeff watched the video repeatedly and incorporated the AIM techniques on the clay field. After some local success, Jeff sought out Mr. Matarese for in person lessons. Jeff won back to back Colorado State FITASC Championships in 2023 and 2024 and achieved a personal goal of being a top 100 shooter at the 2024 National Sporting Clays Championship. Jeff recently …

Michael Keene began his shooting career in 2009 when he was introduced to sporting clays at a local club in upstate New York. He was instantly hooked on the game, and shot recreationally for years thinking he could hit anything with a shotgun as long as he looked hard at it.
