Like many shooting clay targets there is a balance between family, work, and clays. At home my wife Leigh and I are raising our two young daughters and at work I’m the COOof an investment management firm with over $2.1 billion in assets. Life becomes balance with family coming first, work second (depending on who you ask), and then the rest.
Registered targets started for me in 2020 and with a few lessons from Wendell Cherry, and regular help from Bill Yacktman. I progressed to M class quickly but toward the middle of 2021 I felt like the progression was slowing, and my consistency was quite volatile …

The idea at that time was to reach out to Anthony given he is the most accomplished shooter and coach in the US to see if the progression could continue without
wasting excess time or capital. Fellow a.i.m. Team Shooter Devin Anderson made the intro to Anthony and what transpired has propelled my shooting.
Better focus on the process and work has resulted in frequent positive outcomes and results. Anthony can explain basic concepts or the most advanced in ways which everyone can understand and apply. The tools Anthony has helped me develop allow me to be competitive, more frequently, even as the rest of life continues to speed up. If someone is looking to improve themselves and their game holistically, call Anthony.

After retiring from a successful career as a Professional Jockey: I rode in 6250 races, won 605, was the 3rd woman ever to ride in the Kentucky Derby, 2nd woman in the Preakness, won Pennsylvania Derby, Md Jockey of the year and many other highlights as well as broken bones, I needed to find a safer competitive outlet I found Sporting Clays and was fortunate to connect with Anthony Matarese. What Anthony teaches makes sense; it’s a simple and basic process/method, though not especially easy to execute without guidance. What I’ve learned from Anthony has enabled me to pass along his knowledge to my students. I also took his target setting course, which led to me managing a public 5 stand where I set and maintained 15 traps. AIM Shooting School has evolved to include other valuable learning resources, including DVD’s, Streaming and Books which I continue to study.

Michael Keene
Michael Keene began his shooting career in 2009 when he was introduced to sporting clays at a local club in upstate New York. He was instantly hooked on the game, and shot recreationally for years thinking he could hit anything with a shotgun as long as he looked hard at it. That mentality took his game far enough to beat a few guys at that local club, but not far enough to be competitive in NSCA registered tournaments.
A few years after his first tournament Michael began instruction with Anthony Matarese who helped him develop a strong technical and mental framework for his game. Since then, he’s become one of the top …
